Absima has announced the new Kinetic-9 1/9-scale Brushless 4WD Monster Truck, a large off-road basher designed for drivers looking for 3S or 4S LiPo power. The new truck combines a metal drivetrain, aluminum chassis and oversized tires in a ready-to-run package.
Power comes from a 3674 2600Kv brushless motor paired with a 130A electronic speed controller. Absima claims speeds of up to 65 km/h (40 mph) using a 3S LiPo battery or 85 km/h (53 mph) on 4S. The Kinetic-9 also features hardened steel driveshafts, metal differentials and precision-machined gears to handle the additional power.
Underneath the body is a 3mm-thick 6061-T6 aluminum chassis, adjustable aluminum-bodied oil shocks, and a waterproof 15kg metal-gear steering servo. The truck rides on large 128mm-tall monster truck tires and features 75mm of ground clearance. Integrated LED lighting, a four-channel 2.4GHz transmitter and a 330mm wheelbase round out the package.
The Kinetic-9 arrives assembled with its electronics installed, although a compatible 3S or 4S LiPo battery and charger must be purchased separately. The truck uses an EC5 battery connector. For newer drivers, starting with a 3S battery would be a sensible way to become familiar with the vehicle before moving up to 4S power.
The Absima Kinetic-9 is currently listed at €399.95 in Europe, with availability still pending. U.S. pricing and availability have not been confirmed. For American hobbyists interested in the truck, replacement-parts availability and distributor support will be important details to watch before purchasing.
