Hitec RCD has announced the new RDX4 1000 Four-Port AC/DC Battery Charger designed for RC enthusiasts who need to charge and maintain several battery packs. With four independent charging ports and support for multiple battery chemistries, the RDX4 1000 could be particularly useful for racers running multiple monster trucks.
The charger delivers up to 500 watts when connected to household AC power or 1000 watts using a suitable external DC power supply. Ports B and C support up to 25 amps each, while Ports A and D support up to 15 amps each, subject to the charger’s available power. It can handle lithium battery packs from 1S to 6S, along with supported NiMH, NiCd and lead-acid batteries.
The RDX4 1000 also includes several useful battery-management features. Balance charging, storage charging, battery resistance measurement and capacity cutoff functions allow owners to monitor and maintain their batteries. A flip-up backlit display makes settings easier to read while a USB-C PD port can charge compatible mobile devices.
For RC monster truck enthusiasts, the biggest advantage is convenience. Instead of charging batteries one at a time, owners can prepare multiple packs simultaneously. That’s especially useful when running several trucks or preparing for a full day of racing. Just remember that the advertised 1000W output requires an appropriate external DC power supply; household AC operation is limited to 500W total.
