Hitec RCD has introduced the new DCX2 1600 Duo Two-Port Battery Charger, a high-output charging system designed for RC hobbyists running larger battery packs. With support for lithium batteries up to 8S and a combined maximum output of 1600 watts, the DCX2 is aimed at enthusiasts who need more charging capability than a typical entry-level charger provides.
The DCX2 features two independent charging ports capable of delivering up to 32 amps each, with a maximum combined output of 1600W. It supports LiPo, LiHV, LiFe and Li-ion batteries from 1S to 8S, along with NiMH and NiCd packs up to 20 cells. A parallel operating mode is also available for charging one compatible lithium battery using the combined output of both channels.
Additional features include battery resistance measurement, storage charging, reverse discharging between channels and Bluetooth connectivity through Hitec’s LinkPowerX application. The charger also features a flip-up display, an external temperature sensor connection and a USB-C PD output for compatible devices.
One important detail is that the DCX2 1600 is a DC-only charger. It requires a separate external power supply and cannot be connected directly to a household AC outlet. Reaching its maximum advertised charging output requires a sufficiently powerful supply, and users should always follow their battery manufacturer’s charging limits. Having 1600 watts available doesn’t mean every battery should be charged at maximum power.
